Not seen conditions like this for ages!
Roads are atrocious, awash with water which is blowing in the wind.
manholes have blown and I saw one accident coming back from a badminton
match in Newton Abbot. Trees are down, power is out in places, and still
it comes down, over 40mm and counting. Bit quieter now in the warm
sector (10-11C) at 2215 but the rain is lashing in torrents against the
window again. Offical forecast tomorrow is for snow and high winds above
1000 feet asl, bring it on!

It's pretty bad here in Milton Keynes too. Don't know what the actual
gusts are, but they were enough to blow me sideways when cycling home! I
was actually soaked from the rain too.
Much better than boring summer weather!
So true!
This is why I love winter. I think probably the worst weather month since
moving here was November just gone with mild endless fog and high humidity
and no action at all, now the wind is howling outside and the windows are
being washed with what seems like buckets of water being thrown over them,
exciting stuff :-)
