Not seen conditions like this for ages!
Roads are atrocious, awash with water which is blowing in the wind.
manholes have blown and I saw one accident coming back from a badminton
match in Newton Abbot. Trees are down, power is out in places, and
still
it comes down, over 40mm and counting. Bit quieter now in the warm
sector (10-11C) at 2215 but the rain is lashing in torrents against the
window again. Offical forecast tomorrow is for snow and high winds
above
1000 feet asl, bring it on!

It's pretty bad here in Milton Keynes too. Don't know what the actual
gusts are, but they were enough to blow me sideways when cycling home!
I was actually soaked from the rain too.
Much better than boring summer weather!
So true!
This is why I love winter. I think probably the worst weather month
since moving here was November just gone with mild endless fog and high
humidity and no action at all, now the wind is howling outside and the
windows are being washed with what seems like buckets of water being
thrown over them, exciting stuff :-)

After moving 'down south' just over a year ago, the only thing that kept
me going through summer was the chance of a good thunder storm (we
hardly got any in Cumbria). I was very disappointed with the one
solitary storm we ended up having!
I've always loved a good winter storm, but thought I might grow to hate
them with having to cycle to uni every day. So far though that hasn't
happened. It just makes the journey in more exciting. )

Well good luck with your studying Liam. We'll pencil you in to fulfill
Will's role on here in thirty years time when he's had enough of it :-(
