Hi Alex
Sounds like a shocker and probably 10 mph stronger winds than the
models were indicating. Not helped by what might be a sting jet
occuring and actually making it to the ground which isn't a common
(and indeed still enigmatic) occurrence. I'm sure David Smart
(waghorn) will be on to this already to confirm whether it did occur.

Well there was certainly a vicious line squall passed through here,
probably one of the worst of its type for some time.
Good luck with the clear up Alex. The scene sounds reminiscent of our
street in a certain October 1987. Really scary stuff.
Still on the bright side you have managed to dominate our Southern bias
