On this occasion it's similar down here Ken.

Recent mean speeds near Land's End of 44mph. The gale's W rather than
the SW gale of the early hours yesterday, so in some places it's now
stronger than yesterday. I was out near St Ives earlier and it was
getting very hard to stand above Porthmeor beach. I checked when I got
back and there had been a 50kn gust a few 100 yards away on the
Island.

If anything it's been worse on the north Cornwall coast over the last
2 or 3 hours.
