After no measurable precipitation for the first 15 days of this month,
yesterday's heavy rain produced 46.3 mm for the 24 hours till 0900 this
morning. This is my wettest day this year and one of the rare occasions
where I have measured more than fell on the Haytor observatory!
The snow earlier dragged the min temp down to 1.0C, currently 4.0C, cloudy
but brightening up.

Whey hey ! Put it in your diary Pete, I'm impressed, we missed out on that heavy
band that you got this morning. Mind you my total was from the AWS (I haven't
measured the rain gauge yet), also quite a bit of my precipitation was snow and
my AWS is still recording a rate of 1.0 mm/h from thawing snow ! I'll have a
definitive reading at 1800 but I still won't reach your total.

Temperature 1.6 deg C up here and the snow is thawing, still a good icy cover on
the grass at 0930. Still raw and cloudy with very fine light drizzle.

Cheers,

Will.
