A refreshing bit of uncertainty today!

Interesting that for the first time they should flag up the possibility
of severe cold setting in towards the end of the month, although saying
it's slightly odds against, just when the models seem to have backed
away from it. I wonder what they've seen that we aren't privy to. Or
could it be Will's SSW?

I like the way that is presented a lot. Interestingly the talk Ron and I
went to by Peter Gibbs, I raised this probability question and the
answer was that they were keen to introduce where time permitted - as
here for example, I guess.

Due to work commitments I couldn't make that talk last Wednesday. Was
it worth the effort - and is there going to be another one?

To be honest it was a bit basic - I think it was aimed (wrongly) at an
audience that didn't know computer models existed to predict the
weather. There was the opportunity to chat afterwards though and
Burlington House do a very nice cream tea for £6.50 ;-)
