Default East wind picking up

This may seem insignificant but the east wind has really picked up here
in the past hour despite predictions of light winds today. Also a build
up of cumulus. Temperature has fallen back down to
-1.0C at 1230, probably giving us an ice day. It makes me wonder if the
advection of colder air from France has been underdone by the models in
relation to the warm front/triple point coming in tomorrow?

On the other hand,to your east, we have lost the very cold east to
north-east flow we had yesterday and overnight. Light northerlies since
mid morning so rather less cold. An Ice Day yesterday but not today. The
real bonus in all this is 3 days of unbroken sunshine.
