The one at Haytor last Sunday had to be demolished because he had the
wrong proportions.
Also saw another dead snowman body in Postbridge on my walk today.

im not giving up yet, the CF forecast did suggest getting quite
cold again towards the end of the week in the south especially
still think a bigger fall of snow is coming in feb after this respite...

One thing that I've noticed is that, after many years when it often
didn't snow even when it was expected to - at least in the south - in
recent years it often seems to snow when it wasn't expected to or else
we get more snow than was expected.
OTOH, I do wonder if this February could be shaping up to be similar to
that of 1986. Though there was more snow further north, in my part of
Surrey there was a fall of a couple of inches right at the start of the
month and then no more that I can recall till another couple of inches
fell on 1st March. Especially in the second half of the month, I can
remember day after day of unbroken sunshine tempered by a keen NE wind.
The maximum would get up to 3 or 4C most days, because by the second
half of the month the sun is getting quite powerful, but there would be
a hard frost every night.
I believe that February, 1956 was similar, with heavy snow largely
restricted to the east coast, though I'm too young to have any clear
recollections of that month.
February, 1947 was very different of course, with the blocking high
being located further north so that lows could track across France or up
the English Channel.
