Watching a pristine layer of snow, slowly melt away before the cold air

Around 4-6 inches of snow on Holmbury Hill, Surrey, only a slight thaw
today. Roads were glistening as I cycled home suggesting the ground is
starting to re-freeze. More of a thaw at low levels, in Horsham the snow
depth is down to about an inch.

A group of us may go swimming in the outdoor pool at work tomorrow
lunchtime. The water temperature as measured today was 2C.
