Watching a pristine layer of snow, slowly melt away before the cold air
returns. All very sad.
Some of you in the SE have my commiserations :-)

It's amazing how quick snow can melt away, by the end of yesterday there
was about an inch of snow left of the 5 inches that fell on Saturday
evening. Yesterday, on the pavements was very slushy, my shoes and feet
were soaking wet.
This morning was foggy, later on it cleared to give an overcast sky.
The only snow left is in clumps from people's drives and north facing
gardens.
