Default East wind picking up

This may seem insignificant but the east wind has really picked up here in
the past hour despite predictions of light winds today. Also a build up of
cumulus. Temperature has fallen back down to
-1.0C at 1230, probably giving us an ice day. It makes me wonder if the
advection of colder air from France has been underdone by the models in
relation to the warm front/triple point coming in tomorrow?

Up to +1.6°C here for me at Southend-on-Sea, wind northerly, but
light. Warmer than yesterday already. But looking at those METARs the
near continent is well below freezing. Don't expect any of those
showers to make it here tonight off the North Sea. Time to start
building myself up for Saturday nights event, tablets ready for that
disappointment as well!!

Now where did I throw those toys ?
