I can't remember the near continent being quite so cold as it
currently is and I wonder whether the models are allowing for this.
Zonality seems to be struggling to establish itself, and I doubt the
UKMO medium range forcast will be correct.

Then there's this northerly scenario that the models keep thowing into
the ring.

Of course we could just stay on the edge of the action, but the SE in
the cold for sometime to come.

Wonder if Will has any new thoughts?

Temperature dropping like a stone, which is unusual given the NE wind
with shallow cumulus coming off the North Sea.

Temp -2.9°C
DP -8.4°C
Wind NNE (Backed) 2mph

For a few days now the temperature range E - W along the south coast
has been close to 10C, irrespective of the time of day. E.g. at 13:15
it was 8.1C in Penzance (today's max was 8.7) but only around -2C in
east Kent. Currently the range is roughly -4 to +6C.

It looks like turning somewhat colder here for 36 hours or so, but
still nothing like the temperatures further east. It felt quite
pleasant todayhttp://www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm

Only +0.7 in Teignmouth presently. Almost an ice day on the south
coast of Devon and you don't get many of those to the winter's pound!
