Default 1969 Northerly:)

Well after yesterdays ice I was wishing for quick end to Winter as I don't
want to go through that again. North Staffs A & E made the made news with
almost 100 people with broken limbs in one day!
It was the most evil day I can remember for some time.
However Will got me interested again talking about a northerly outbreak, now
I think I could endure a bit more Winter if we could get a proper Northerly
set up.

Just been looking at the old charts from February 1969, my snowiest February
on record.
21 days snow lying (still a record in the last 50 years) and 24 days snow
lying only beaten by February 1978.
Has to be best northerly month ever, awesome charts, regular falls over 10
cms with 18 cms on the 14th and 15 cms on the 20th.
Let's have some of that, Will can't you train your thoughts to give us some
of that, now that would make this a February to remember

Managed to get over zero today with 0.8c, so looks like its going to be 2
ice days for the month. Will be the 8 snow lying days tomorrow, still 80%
cover of very icy frozen snow (around 1 to 2cms).
Not sure if there is going to be anymore as it's looking milder next week.

After a lovely sunny day it's turned more cloudy in the last hour. Still
lots of glaze on the trees and wires, sun not touched it!

Current temp 0.3c
