Today will probably be the last in a sequence of 14 days of uninterrupted
frost in Brussels.

This is the longest sequence of freezing days here since January 1941, when
the temperature did not rise above 0°C during the first 17 days of the
month.

January 1987 and January 1997 each had a period of 12 successive freezing
days.

February 2012 has so far been colder than any February since 1917: average
max. temp. so far -2.6°C compared to -2.7°C in February 1917.
