Increasingly, this Newsgroup has become unrecognisable from the one I

Although I've struggled to resist it, I've become thoroughly fed-up
with the raw unpleasantness that some posts to this Group have
contained, of late. *They're introverted, boring, narrow-minded,
disrespectful and nasty, and are bloody awful to have to wade through
but they are difficult to avoid as they often pop up in the most
unlikely places. *What's worse, they don't add one iota to the sum of
knowledge, nor are they in the spirit of sensible discussion which I
always thought this Group was set-up to promote.

To those who take delight in all this: Go and fight your petty spats
somewhere else. I've neither the time or patience to listen to them
any longer.

Well, well. *Put a number of folk in their 50s and 60s together as a scientific experiment and see how long it takes them to behave like primary school kids, when their cosy little clique is shattered by a minority with a different view to themselves.

No need. It has happened before my very eyes.

Thankyou. I now have enough material for my Phd thesis.

Good luck with the Phd but I fear it's doomed to failure. Who would
believe that Lawrence, Weatherlayer, Dawlish and last but by no means
least the Eskimo man who who has to justify his existence on earth by
telling us that he's a "leader", sleeps in a room at close to absolute
zero etc, etc, etc, actually exist. Complete nutters all of them!
