I wouldn't put it quite like that. When people let their hair
down they usually enjoy themselves and this spreads to those around
them. I cannot believe Dawlish is enjoying himself on weather groups,
two of which he has been chucked off, as he would have been from here
if it were moderated.
He may well be very good and professional at the job he does
because he is in a position of authority and can tell teachers what is
required, and having engaged him they will be grateful. But on this
group he is a long way down the pecking order in terms of
meteorological knowledge which to me seems skimpy and shallow despite
his blustery efforts to convince us otherwise. He simply cannot
handle his modest status on this group. I would imagine that would
also be the case in any other co-operative activity in which he was
not the big cheese, such as the jazz Big Band I play in. He would be
telling the band leader and those in the section what's what and he
would be out in no time. It happens. Unfortunately it can't happen
here.

Like all bullies he's insecure and wants the world (weather?) to revolve
around him.

I generally try to take no note of him. The oxygen of any troll (bully)
is acknowledgement.
