Was half expecting it, but hasn't lasted long and warming up a bit
now. Some beefy showers this morning.
Others coming up to Sunderland yesterday over the North York Moors
said there was a couple of inches up there and several said the A19
was more of a skid pan than a main road. Quite a number of vechicles
no longer on the road but wrapped around or resting in roadside
objects.

Cheers Dave.

Had they not salted and gritted the road?
I was driving back from Tavistock towards Plymouth at 10 pm last night
and the A386 had been gritted.
Hardly a high altitude route, but damp in places and road temperature
expected to fall close to zero.
A bit OTT in my opinion but they had spare salt after the winter so
why not throw it on?
