Northampton Carnival - wind making trees unsafe; ground too soft in park for
heavy vehicles.

Cambridgeshire County Show - ground too soft for heavy vehicles.
Cancellation actually requested by the National Trust, who own the ground,
and are fearful of lasting damage from vehicles.

Suffolk County Show - cancelled just 15 minutes after opening the gates this
morning, as the ground was unsuitable for vehicles.

Bedford White Water Canoeing - too much water!!!

And it goes on. Just to remind everyone, this area is still subject to a
Drought Order, and the use of hosepipes by householders is still banned.

Flaming Bloody June. The only flames around here are on the burners of my
central heating boiler every evening.
