Northampton Carnival - wind making trees unsafe; ground too soft in
park for heavy vehicles.

Cambridgeshire County Show - ground too soft for heavy vehicles.
Cancellation actually requested by the National Trust, who own the
ground, and are fearful of lasting damage from vehicles.

Suffolk County Show - cancelled just 15 minutes after opening the
gates this morning, as the ground was unsuitable for vehicles.

Bedford White Water Canoeing - too much water!!!

And it goes on. Just to remind everyone, this area is still subject to
a Drought Order, and the use of hosepipes by householders is still
banned.

Flaming Bloody June. The only flames around here are on the burners of
my central heating boiler every evening.

ROFL

This season is turning out to be almost as good as winter with all the
drama, brilliant!
:-)

Bring on the thunderstorms.

Now there is flooding at a caravan site and at least one village near
Aberystwyth. People apparently are being rescued by Fire, RNLI, Coastguard
and helicopter.

Right, and for those people who claim that such conditions
are perfectly normal for June and are just part of a disturbed
British summer, think again.
This isn't unprecedended or even exceptional, but it certainly
is unusual. You don't get flooding like that in most British summer months.

Particularly not in Wales where we are quite used to high rainfall.
