Guid stuff, Fred. An' the pome forbye and besides.

Sir Thomas Dick Lauder's book is a fascinating and horrifying
account. I recommend it as a good read to anyone interested in
the Muckle Spate - title is "The Great Floods of August 1829 in
the Province of Moray and Adjoining Districts" and it's readily
available in a paperback reprint.
