Sony Alpha A550 with Sigma 50~500 at the long end, and a Thousand Oaks
Optical RG-4000 solar filter (a bit of Scotch mounting tape on the
inside of the filter carrier and it fits quite nicely on the Bigma's
ample snout.) The image posted is at full resolution.

Great lens for my aviation obsession (sans solar filter, of
course...), though it weighs well over 4 lbs. Sore arm to prove it.
