According to my radar Edinburgh has had some thunderstorms today and

On this note are there any good, free lightning detection sites that
have a good coverage of the Edinburgh area? I'm currently using

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=lightning;sess=

which is fine (it's free after all) but I was wondering if there were
alternatives.

Many thanks.

.... well, unfortunately you've got to put up with the clunky (and slow)
interface, but the Met Office site now has a good display via this link ...
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w.../observations/

Select: "Lightning" on the right-hand panel, then zoom in using the
Googlemap-style slider on the left.

Martin.
