According the Met Office, this has been the wettest June on record in the UK.
I do wish they would specify where the data comes from, because many parts of the UK have only had their wettest July since 2007, and there are those stations in the far north, with well below average rainfall, if I am not mistaken.
A broad brush approach to excite the media is disappointing IMHO.

Trouble is that the MO keeps moving the goalposts. Eny fule kno that
accurate rainfall records go back at least a centuryr than 1910-but
the MO refuses to refer to them. It's a bit like the balance of
payments statistics. They go back 60y at least but statistical
comparisons are only quoted back 20y or so-does anybody know why?
