You have to remember though that was written at a time (mid 90s) when
this group first started and the polarised debate on AGW wasn't as
evident as it is today. The polarised standpoints some take may be
undesirable but given that it has become so much a part of
meteorology/climatology it would be unrealistic to expect such discussions
not to take place here.
Sign of the times, I'm afraid.


It must already have been enough in evidence for Philip Eden (who I
think was the group's proponent) to think that it would be prudent to
mention environmental-activism in the charter.
