cricket then? Appeared to be raining on and off all day with just a few
overs bowled.

I really don't know - we have had a couple of storms in the last hour,
but as far east as Bridgend the roads have been virtually dry for the
rest of the day. Was there a line of showers I wonder for Cardiff? I
looked at the Met Office radar - going back to 12noon and there was only
one frame where any blue appeared over Cardiff - apart from tonight's
showers.

It doesn't take more than a few spots to stop a cricket match.

Doesn't that depend on who's side is winning?

Why do English teams insist on playing on grass and or in the open in
matches that can last several days?

Sounds a bit antique for the century, doesn't it?
Is getting a non slip, suitably resilient elastic surface so
difficult?
