Default [OT .. sort of] Blue Moon? Not in my book ...

.... I wrote something up about 'blue moons' and its changed meaning over
the years here ....

http://weatherfaqs.org.uk/node/161

As with so many other facets of life, the US-dominated media -
entertainment - commercial environment has altered its original meaning
which is a shame because the 'true' blue moon is a fascinating
phenomenon; this changed / altered usage is similar to the (now) common
use of the phrase 'Indian Summer' which no doubt we'll also hear a lot
of in the weeks to come.
