Did you know......................?

Every Saturday so far this autumn in Coventry has been dry and sunny,
with an average of 7.8 hours of sunshine on each day, compared to an
expected 4.4 hours per day at this time of year.

Yes, this has been true down 'ere too.

We go for a big walk every weekend (unless it's hot, then we head for
the beach), and we try and pick the best weather day and so far this
autumn we have walked only one the Saturdays.

I've just looked back at my records and so far (since 1st Sep), the
Saturdays have been the best day and all have been quite sunny. But most
importantly, dry.

Sunny autumn Saturdays:
1st Sep = 5.8 hours
8th Sep = 5.4 hours
15th Sep = 7.2 hours
22nd Sep = 8.3 hours
29th Sep = 9.2 hours
6th Oct = 8.9 hours
Average = 7.5 hours (62% of the total possible).

Yesterday we walked out onto the high moor (Dartmoor) and it was a
gloriously sunny day, though it was very wet and boggy in places and the
streams were in spate.

Sun shone today, but it clouded over this afternoon (max of 15.6°C).
