Default WR Haytor 10/10/12 (Still foggy, still wet, still yucky tropical air!)

Temperature has been constant between 10-11C for 24 hours now.
Constant 100% humidity. Whole outside of house and all other surfaces are
sopping wet and the drizzle is still falling quite steadily. Houselights
on in the gloom.
Fog is thicker this morning with visibilities around 80 metres, so almost
dense fog. Driving OK in daylight but we are used to fog up here!
Hope we get a bit of a clearance before the next wet Atlantic system rolls
in.
Still it's nice and quiet and I guess I won't meet a soul on my
constitutional stroll later.

Today's auto forecast is a weird one
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...st/haytor-vale

Visibility is forecast to change from very poor to moderate and yet the
humidity is forecast to remain at 100%. Er go figure that one .......

The human text forecast for Dartmoor National Park is a classic.
" Largely cloudy and misty, with a little drizzle or light rain at times.
Chance of some brighter intervals later. "

Why no mention of fog? Oh yes 80 metre vis. is mist is it?
Clearly the person who wrote this does not live in the hills. It's not
rocket science, look at the reported cloud bases from the obs. to tell
whether there is going to be fog on higher ground. That's what they would
have done at a local weather centre. I despair I really do.
