the 20th there was a longish thread regarding the impending cold

What's so wonderful about snow, anyway?
It makes for some very pretty landscapes, and there is something
pleasurable about the crunch crunch crunch under my feet. These days,
IMO, this doesn't compensate for its disruptive nature therefore I tend
to err on the side of hoping for no significant snow.

It's probably not a good thing for me at my age and with my dodgy knees
but I like a few days of it for a change. I also appreciate the decent
light it provides and attractive scenery for my photography hobby.
