Fields of Gold here since just before Christmas, this was New Years Day http://www.flickr.com/photos/timssea...es/8333466524/ The early narcissi were being picked in November, even on the mainland.

You don't normally see many fields like this, but the Christmas break has meant a lot of the picking stopped and many of the south facing fields behind Penzance are now yellow. I think it rather brightens up am otherwise bleak time of year.

At least the sun shone briefly on Christmas day http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/s-C-...ail/story.html. SST and air both around 11C at the time.
