Default WeatherAction 100 year forecast for the world - made astoundingly in 2009

Has the world started to cool - probably not.

The fig quoted in Piers web

Looks to me to be the model climate from the CFS2 compared to the reanalysis
CFSR (35KM resolution) but not the real, estimated or measured climate.
Given that CFS2 looks a bit warm a trend to lower values in that model would
be a good thing.

The "real" or measured climate - well at least a representation of it can be
seen at:

or
http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/graphs_v3/ check the base periods which
can vary

The last link (scroll down the page) shows at least part of the southern
hemi is still warming despite a small hesitation elsewhere in the rolling 5
year means.

On a personal note, I remember Piers giving a poster presentation in front
of a group which included leading European and UK Met staff, Directors and
some heads of National Met Services. He would not elaborate on his methods
despite genuine interest. From memory the forecast did not turn out well,
but then some forecasts don't and that's life.
