... 18/1000Z: all slight snow so visibility reduction now due more to
mistiness (600-800M); little additional depth, circa 1/2 to 1 cm at
most. OAT: 0.4°C. [ Isolated reports on radio of '6 inches'/which would
be ~15 cm, well to the north of us in the Cranborne Vale, but of course
can't verify that.]

.... 18/1100Z: light snow continues ... proper flakes ... sticky ...
visibility still in fog limits but not due to the snowfall intensity.
Little 'new' snow again, so total amounts holding steady around 6 cm
mean with LOC pockets 7 or 8 cm, some settling now. Been clearing paths
and it's clear that a lot of heat is coming up from below.

From my stand-by gauge, the total PPN at 09Z (24hr up to then) = 11.9
mm. Doesn't truly relate to the snow depth as when the event started,
there was an extended period of sleet, and given the nature of the
'true' snow, it's 'flopped down' (i.e. settled) from its theoretical
maximum depth.

OAT: 0.3°C (note, coming down)

Martin.
