last night at 1am I hit +0.8°C and here in the last 20 minutes just hit +0.1°C after being below freezing all day. Sometimes this happens prior to precipitation, we'll see? Looking at temperatures on the near continent there only a couple of degrees below me, so if the wind slows the heat of the north sea will have more effect. Sunday's event I feel will be rain and sleet currently.

It's often the way, Keith.

The wind's increased in the past hour which probably has something to do with it but I'm up to -1.0C at the moment. My lowest temp in the past 24hrs was -2.7C at 09:00 hrs (precisely) this morning.

An interesting ice-day (well, past 24hrs, anyway) which reminded me of years ago up in the Pennine foothills of NW Durham, when they weren't that unusual at all.

Off out to the local in a mo ....

Cheers,

- Tom.
