Quick.....sign him up for u.s.w.

... I'm working on it Norman! He's also got a little brother rising-2,
so I've got a back-up :-)

Listening to BBC Radio Solent where people are ringing in with snow
depths, then generally away from the immediate coastal strip the figures
are coming in between 5 and 10 cm, but some reports well inland of
around 15 cm. Traffic variable - but light - a lot of people have
obviously taken the day off - but even so Police are advising of poor
conditions on even the 'major' east/west routes, especially on slip
roads, e.g., M27 west of Southampton. Isle of Wight appears to be bad too.

I am told on good authority that there's over 5 cm down on the Solent
coastline too, Gosport/Lee on Solent usually miss it but not this
time.

7 to 9 cm here in West Fareham and counting... 0.0 deg C, no
significant drifting.

My father at Wootton on the opposite side of the Solent from you
measured 6cm at a height of 40m amsl and less than a mile from
the coast. Deeper snow further inland on the Isle of Wight, if you
can call anything 'inland' on that island.
