The breezy conditions across Britain at the moment are more than matched in
the south of Iceland. At midday Vestmannaeyjar in the far south was
recording a wind speed of 83 mph from the south west with a surface pressure
of 952mb. Visibility was reduced to less than 1km due to heavy snow and
probably salt spray as well. The temperature was in fact fairly high around
2C.
