The snow was so bad at times when I was a lad we had to crawl on our

knees through t'snow as the wind was so strong you couldn't stand up.

And that was after a breakfast of lard and coal :-)



You had lard AND coal, we just had coal (lard was a luxury!)



Yeah OK, so we were upper working class - we had a house as well.

Probably looked down on you, like I do today :-)
