The etesians had a similar effect over the northern and central Aegean in
June, when SS temperatures would not exceed 22-23C. The lack of etesians
since June is profound this year, too, like it was last year. SSTs are now
between 24-25C (eastern, central, northern Aegean) and 27C (Ionian sea,
eastern Dodecanese). Last August and autumn had some severe weather and wet
records in schedule for Greece -SSTs had reached 28C.
