Default Funny old cold spell

Yup ,funny old cold spell this , my max in sunny Woodford Green
,suburban Essex reached a tolerable 6.3c today ,and after a little
rain this evening temps are climbing again from 4.2 at 6pm to 5.2 c
now ,and still rising . Are we to look to only high ground above 200
meters and generally north of Staffordshire ?,yes I know it snowed in
parts of Essex this afternoon, but that hardly justifies the dire
warnings being bandied about at the moment, mind Piers has decamped to
the Caingorms I hear.....

I couldn't agree more Ron, today we had a sunny morning then a few heavy
snow showers this afternoon quickly followed by heavy rain soon washing
away any snow. Does a day like this really need a dire weather warning,
it's becoming silly!
Days like today are normal weather for the middle of Winter!!!!

Temperature still continues to rise up to 4.1c now

Is there a dire weather warning at the moment? I can only see yellow
warnings on the Met Office site.

Those warnings are for 65 mph wind gusts, 1-2 inches of snow and icy
roads. That isn't that unreasonable is it?
