Some light rain this morning just turned to rain and snow.

.... tying in with your observation Phil, we've just (09/0920Z FEB) had a
short spell of rain and 'noisy rain' mixed (i.e., ice pellets if you're
a Brit, sleet if you come from over the water): wandering about in the
rain and it started to sound 'clattery' but the ice element was small
and the pellets soon disintegrated. Must be in that 'sweet spot' where
the vertical temperature profile is a bit convoluted, between the
snowy-potential zone to the east and rain to the west.

Martin.
