Eurasian cold vastly dwarfed Australia heat

I don't know about Asia, but "most of Europe"? Where do you get that
from? Apart from the UK and neighbouring areas, my own impression is
that over the last three months most of Europe has been warmer than
average. I haven't seen even a brief period where "astoundingly cold"
would be an accurate description.
If Piers hypes past weather or simply gets it wrong, why should we trust
his forecasts?
