I'd be grateful if you knowledgeable weather-students could clarify which
year it was as there seems to be some confusion in the media.
The winter of 1962-63 has of course passed into folklore, so presumably
it's 1963 and those outlets stating 1962 are using a lazy shorthand for
62-63
Thanks

It is, of course, a bit early to be counting chickens. However, for
Wokingham, using the temperature data for this month so far, and inserting
the 'forecast' values for the next 7 days, I end up with a mean for the
month of +3.5C. In terms of the long-period Wokingham series back to 1882,
it would be the 6th coldest March, and the coldest since 1962, mean +3.1C.
