He did it "its way"
Tonight, on News 24, Darren Bett managed to fit "its way" after three verbs
in a few seconds. We had "streak its way", "pile its way", and "push its
way". Why not just "streak", "pile", and "push"? Did he have too much time
to fill? I'm not picking on him particularly - he was just the last straw.
Almost all the BBC forecasters now use "its way" wherever possible. Are
they running some sort of contest to see who can achieve the most
unnecessary uses of "its way"?
