Default Lingering Snow

Despite the mini heatwave today, +5.5C, snow is still evident in the

neighbourhood. A 6 feet high pile in the lower park where a giant

At this rate, it'll still be there when next winter's snows start.

And I have a question that needs some clarification. Twice in the last

couple of days, I have heard mention on the radio/TV that this was the

coldest March since 1962. Is that correct, or should it be 1963?

The CET may even have been lower than March 1962. March 1963 ended up much higher. Lots of snow drifts even on the lower ground around south Yorkshire.
