Swathe of gale force winds now affecting Lancashire 'roaring' outside
with the odd 'clatter' and roof tiles shifting. Full marks to UKMO for
predicting the rapidly developing low responsible for this. Currently
(07:20Z) mean speed for the WSW'ly is 32kts, gusting to 51kts. Around
06:00Z we had a mean speed of 35kts and a gust of 59kts (68mph). This is
the highest gust I've recorded (anemometer installed July 2000).

Take care out there in Lancashire currently. The situation should ease
slightly by late morning.
