Agreed, but that is not the same as saying all opinions are valid, which
is the statement I was disagreeing with.

For example, if I want an opinion on a particular subject, then the
opinions of someone who is an authority in that subject would be valid
whereas the opinions of someone who is clueless on that subject would
probably be useless.

I can see the point you are making but does that mean that you have
to be a climate scientist in order for your opinion on global warming to be
'valid'?

And surely whether somebody is 'clueless' or not is also just an opinion?
