The average hottest-day-of-the-year here (1984-2012) is July 19. It actually fell on that day in 2006. I was rather surprised to find that the hottest day of the year is almost uniformly distributed between June (9 cases), July (10) and August (9) with one in September. Earliest was June 7 (1996) and the latest September 1 (1991).
