to say it, whereas other forecasters seem too afraid of having their words
twisted, and then being accused of being wrong.

Derek quite clearly said it was only a possibility. Unfortunately certain
parts of the media prefer to ignore the caveats.

Of course, it was actually the other forecasters that were wrong, who
were still saying "there is no sign of an end to this".
