Some lovely medium level instability effects in a thickening AC AS sheet as it passed over mid Devon at around 1400 UTC this afternoon. Distant embedded AC Castellanus with a distinct curving cloud edge with embedded mamamtus on its leading edge aligned NE/SW, large drops of rain now starting to fall. I notice on the 1345 UTC weather radar a line of convection now taking shape from Bristol down to Torbay.



The rain certainly has taken its time to get going in this part of the world - on the 0715 weather on Breakfast it was forecast to be wet from mid morning - but I still managed to get the lawn cut!

It got to Dawlish around 4.00. Perfectly timed, after we'd got all the garden work done and the newly planted needed watering in. the Dawlish rain shield appears breached.

Taking the dog for a walk in the refreshing evening rain was an unexpected pleasure!

Didn't see the rolled edge to the thickening clouds.
