The TV forecast typically issues a local (well regional) forecast prior
to the national weather forecast.

On the Met Office site you can select a five day forecast for a
particular town.

Regarding the weather warnings, I presume they haven't got sufficient
forecast skill to issue warnings below regional level so I can see that
if you live in an area subject to a microclimate then the warnings may
not correlate that well with the conditions experienced.
