Those split lows that develop (according to the MetO North Atlantic charts) tend to do that with the Highs no?

I'm not so sure that volcanoes cause the highs now; though they might impact SSWs. The blocking high has always been "there" this year. But then again it would, wouldn't it?

Have a look at Monday. It is worth noting that along with volcanic activity we have had a tornado almost every day according to the NWS. Interesting fronts, no?
